Double award winners!

It’s always an honour to receive a business award, and this autumn we have proudly placed two new ornaments on the trophy shelf!

First, we topped the Manufacturing Business of the Year category in the PlymouthLive Business Awards.  This was followed by being named SME of the Year (Southern Region) in the MAKE UK Awards.  We now progress to the national finals of the MAKE UK Awards.

Both awards recognise the all-round way we have developed the business.  In the last 12 months we have invested in new machinery and IT; we’ve started our journey to Carbon Net Zero; and we’ve fostered a healthy workplace culture and values – combined with record sales! 

The MAKE UK judges said, “Alderman Tooling is a dynamic company that has been able to fully exploit the increasing trend towards technology, skills and training in its staff to deliver precision engineered component parts to their expanding customer base. They clearly demonstrated how the business has developed itself by establishing a clear vision coupled with a great focus on people development. The future is extremely bright for the employees and business”.

Our Managing Director Karen Friendship commented, “Awards such as these feel like a real validation of the ambitious decisions we have taken as a business in recent years, and our continued focus on staff, customers and efficiency.  We know we have an amazing team here, and we all feel tremendously proud of everything that we have achieved.”
